Dear Colleagues,
Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS) has emerged as a powerful treatment option in the rapidly evolving field, revolutionizing various spinal surgical procedures. Among these, the application of endoscopic spine surgery, lateral access, navigation, and robotics in the field of spinal surgery is gaining significant momentum. We are delighted to prepare a special issue of the respected journal dedicated to the “special issue of Neurospine with SMISS” to illuminate the intersection of advanced minimally invasive spinal techniques or technology.
On behalf of the Editorial Board, we are very pleased to announce that Neurospine will publish a special issue on minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) in collaboration with SMISS (Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery; https://www.smiss.org). The target date for this special issue is March 2025.
We are pleased to announce our partnership with our colleagues at SMISS, the world-leading group in the field of MISS. SMISS was founded as a non-profit organization in 2007 to provide a venue for spine specialists dedicated to MISS to gather. Throughout the last decade, this organization has grown into an international hub for minimally invasive spine surgeons, including both neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons. We look forward to a fascinating collaboration discussing the latest high-level clinical and research advances in MISS. With the shared purpose of advancing spine surgery through research and education, we aim to promote an international exchange of knowledge and ideas through this issue dedicated to MISS.
In collaboration with SMISS, this special issue aims to provide our readers with the most advanced knowledge in this field from top MISS leaders. Of course, we also hope to present an open space for active, unlimited discussion through your participation.
The lead editors for this issue are Dr. Jin-Sung Kim (Korea), Dr. Qureshi Sheeraz (USA), Dr. Junseok Bae (Korea), and Dr. Kuo-Tai Chen (Taiwan). Eight guest editors will also play major roles in contributing to this special issue.
The editorial team for this special issue comprises experts, world-leading MISS surgeons, and researchers, who will help ensure that the articles published in this special issue provide our readers with balanced views and evidence-based knowledge.
