Abstract |
A case of ganglion cyst arising from ligamentum flavum in the lumbar spine canal is reported. A 65-year-old woman had a long standing history of radiating leg pain. Magnetic resonance images showed a well-demarcated round epidural mass lesion, which had homogenous high signal intensity with a thin encapsulated band of low intensity around the mass. Surgical excision of the lesion was performed through the partial hemilaminectomy. Histological findings revealed cyst mass with granulation tissue, myxoid change, and fibrosis. Ganglion cyst is considered as one of etiologies of the lumbar radiculopathy despite its rarity.
